He Named Me Malala

Malala Yousafzai is one of the most famous teenagers in the world after being targeted by the Taliban for speaking out about education for girls.

Since surviving the attempt on her life, Malala has continuing the fight for all girls around the world to receive the education that so many Westerners take for granted.

Malala's everyday life is juggled with her campaigning work - which resulted in her receiving the Nobel Peace Prize earlier this year. And now, a new documentary is set to hit the big screen about this extraordinary teenager.

A brand new trailer for the film has been revealed and it is set to take a look at Malala and her life. Check it out:

He Called Me Malala sees Davis Guggenheim return to the director's chair for his first big screen documentary since From the Sky Down back in 2011.

Guggenheim has made some terrific documentaries during his career, including An Inconvenient Truth, It Might Get Loud, and Waiting for Superman, and I can't wait to see what he delivers with this latest feature film.

He Named Me Malala is an intimate portrait of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan's Swat Valley.

The then 15-year-old (she turns 18 this July) was singled out, along with her father, for advocating for girls' education, and the attack on her sparked an outcry from supporters around the world. She miraculously survived and is now a leading campaigner for girls' education globally as co-founder of the Malala Fund.

He Named Me Malala is released Autumn 2015.
