- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2
The highest grossing movie of all time for Warner Bros is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2; a movie that brought the hugely successful franchise to a close back in 2011.
The movie was one of the most anticipated of the year and it grossing a staggering $1,341 billion by the end of it's theatrical run.
Deathly Hallows - Part 2 is currently the fourth biggest movie of all time behind Avatar, Titanic and Avengers Assemble.
- The Dark Knight Rises
There are a trio of Warner Bros movies in the billion dollar club and The Dark Knight Rises is one of them.
Released last year the movie is the final instalment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy and it is the most successful.
The film went on to gross over $1,084 billion and was the third biggest grossing film of last year; behind Avengers Assemble and Skyfall.
The Dark Knight Rises is the ninth biggest grossing movie of all time and really did see Nolan and the rest of the cast bring this well loved franchise to a close with a bang.
- The Dark Knight
Not to be out done The Dark Knight also broke the $1 billion barrier when it was released back in 2008.
The Dark Knight is the most critically acclaimed of Nolan's Batman films and is considered one of the greatest comic book movies of all time.
The movie took over $1,004 billion at the global box office and is the sixteenth biggest movie of all time.
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was released back in 2001 and started the decade long series of Harry Potter movies on the big screen.
The film saw Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint take on the role of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley for the first time; roles that made them stars.
Philosopher's Stone was both a critical and commercial success and gross over $960 million. It was the biggest grossing Harry Potter film until Deathly Hallows - Part 2 came along in 2011.
Deathly Hallows - Part 1, Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince, Goblet of Fire and The Chamber of Secrets have all also been big performers in this franchise.
Christopher Nolan movies have performed well for Warner Bros over the years as Inception was also a box office smash.
The movie was one of the most compelling of 2010 and it remains one of Nolan's greatest achievements as a director.
Inception took over $825 million worldwide and was nominated for eight Oscars; including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay for Nolan. However Nolan was sadly overlooked in the Best Director category.
- The Matrix Reloaded
The Matrix Reloaded was released back in 2003 and yet it still remains one of Warner Bros' biggest box office successes.
The film came four years after the release of the first film and continued the story of Neo.
Andy and Lana Wachowski were back in the director's chair and had also penned the screenplay for the film.
The movie over $742 million and was one of the biggest grossing movies of that year.
- The Hangover Part II
The Hangover is one of the best comedy movies of the last decade and it inevitably spawned a franchise.
In 2011 The Hangover Part II hit the big screen as central characters Doug, Stu, Phil and Alan found themselves in trouble once again.
The Hangover Part II was one of the most anticipated films of that year and went on to gross over $586 million - however the film was not a hit with the critics.
