Joseph Gordon Levitt

Joseph Gordon Levitt

Joseph Gordon Levitt has always been the quiet man of young Hollywood.

Levitt has shown his talent in front of the camera in that time has he has effortlessly moved from small comedies such as 500 Days of Summer to more blockbuster projects such as Inception.

And he was receiving praise left, right and centre in 2011 for his central role in 50/50, which followed a young man battling cancer.

Joseph Gordon Levitt has made it onto the FemaleFirst Hot List and he is set to have a very exciting, and very busy, 2012.

His biggest project of the year is his next movie and that comes in the form of the tiny film called The Dark Knight Rises.

Yes Levitt is just one of the new faces on the cast list as he joins Christopher Nolan's final instalment of the Batman franchise.

The movie, which reunites him with his Inception filmmaker, sees him take on the role of John Blake, a beat cop who may not be all that he seems.

The Dark Knight Rises promises to be one of the biggest movies of 2012.

Away from the blockbuster and Levitt will also star in Premium Rush later this year, which is directed by David Koepp.

This is the first directorial outing for Koepp since Ghost Town back in 2008 - he has also penned the screenplay.

The movie sees Levitt play a bike messenger in Manhattan who picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop, who pursues the cyclist throughout the city.

Michael Shannon and Jamie Chung are the supporting cast in this thriller.

It's into the action movie towards the end of the years with Looper, which also stars Bruce Willis.

But one of the most interesting projects for Levitt comes in the form of Lincoln, which is directed by Steven Spielberg.

The movie is a biopic picture of Abraham Lincoln, played by Daniel Day Lewis, and sees Levitt take on the role of Robert Todd Lincoln.

It's fair to say that this movie has the potential to feature massively on the awards circuit this time next year - the Oscars always love a biopic movie!

So 2012 is another year for Levitt to show off his versatility as he moves from blockbuster to action movie to a biopic project - he could have a series of hit films on his hands.
