We have already been treated to the first image and motion poster for Kong: Skull Island... but not the first trailer for the film has been unveiled.

Kong: Skull Island

Kong: Skull Island

Kong: Skull Island was one of the films to feature at Comic-Con over the weekend, where the first trailer was screened to an army of fans.

Kong is a cinematic icon that we have seen many times on the big screen over the years. I am looking forward to seeing director Jordan Vogt-Roberts put his own stamp on a character that we all know so well. It looks like the filmmaker is going to bring us the biggest King Kong that we have ever seen.

The first trailer really does promise that Kong: Skull Island is going to be a really action-packed ride. Take a look:

Vogt-Roberts made his feature film directorial debut back in 2013 with The Kings of Summer and this is his first film since that success - needless to say, this is the biggest film of his career to date.

Max Borenstein, Derek Connolly, John Gatins, and Dan Gilroy have come together to pen the film's screenplay.

Tom Hiddleston is set to take on the central role of Captain James Conrad as he leads an all-star cast.

Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Goodman will star as Weaver, Lieutenant Colonel Packard, and Randa while Toby Kebbell, John C. Reilly, Thomas Mann, and Corey Hawkins will complete the impressive line-up.

Kong: Skull Island reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific - as beautiful as it is treacherous - unaware that they're crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

I am a huge Kong fan and have enjoyed the movie over the years... Kong: Skull Island is already one of the early 2017 movies that I am looking forward to.

Kong: Skull Island will be released worldwide in 2D, 3D in select theatres, and IMAX in 2017, from Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
