Maleficent

Maleficent

Angelina Jolie is one of Hollywood's brightest and most talented stars, and she is back on the big screen this summer in Maleficent.

We all think we know the story of Sleeping Beauty... well now we are going to see that sam story from a very different perspective.

Maleficent is one of Disney's greatest villains, and now she takes front and centre stage in this great new movie.

Jolie has landed the title role in the, film and really looks the business as Maleficent: believe me when I say she looks totally fantastic.

This will be the first big screen outing for Jolie since The Tourist - although she has voiced the character of Tigress in Kung Fu Panda during that time - as she teams up with director Robert Stromberg.

Stromberg has made a name for himself in the visual effects department and art direction, having won an Oscar for his work on Alice In Wonderland and Avatar.

But now he is making the leap to the director's chair, as Maleficent will mark his feature film directorial debut.

The filmmaker has assembled a terrific cast, as Elle Fanning, Juno Temple, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, and Sam Riley will all-star alongside Jolie.

Maleficent explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic 'Sleeping Beauty' and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone.

Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora.

As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy.

Maleficent realises that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

The early Maleficent trailers really do look incredibly exciting, and I cannot wait to see a new spin on this very famous tale.

Maleficent is released 28th May.
