Maps To The Stars

Maps To The Stars

2014 is set to be an exciting year for Mia Wasikowska, as she has some terrific projects on the horizon.

Maps To The Stars happens to be one of those projects, as she teams up with director David Cronenberg for the first time.

I have to say, this looks set to be an interesting and intriguing movie, which brings together an impressive cast list.

Wasikowska is joined on the cast list by Julianne Moore, Robert Pattinson, John Cusack and Olivia Williams.

The first trailer for the film has been released, and we have it for you to take a look at:

Maps to the Stars will mark the second time that Pattinson has worked with Cronenberg - the made Cosmopolis - and this is the actor's first film since The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

Much like Wasikowska, Pattinson has a sting of exciting and varied films on the horizon over the next year or so. He is really looking to move away from Twilight and established himself as a versatile and talented actor.

Cronenberg has given us some terrific films over the years, as he has been behind movies such as Eastern Promises and A History of Violence.

However, it is a while since we have seen him in the director's chair, as this is his first film since Cosmopolis.

Led by the loathsome yet funny and touching child-star Benjie, we witness the convoluted world of shallow, selfish celebrities and their minions, all of whom are about to be manipulated and destroyed by the young woman who literally represents the fruit of their twisted machinations, Agatha, Benjie’s tormented, apparently psychotic sister.

As much as it is a sharp, comic look at a vacant and corrupt world, Maps To The Stars is also a haunting ghost story.
