Atonement Leads Golden Globe Nominations

British war drama Atonement is leading the 65th Golden Globe awards with seven nominations.The film is nominated in the Best Movie category as well as individual nods for actress Keira Knightley, actor James McAvoy and director Joe Wright.Joining Atonement in the Best Picture category is Ridley Scott's American Gangster, David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises, the Coen brothers' No Country for Old Men, The Great Debaters, Michael Clayton and There Will Be Blood. It's could also be a great night for british talent with Daniel Day Lewis joining James McAvoy in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Drama with George Clooney, Viggo Mortensen and Denzel Washington.Julie Christie and Keira Knightley have been nominated in the Best Actress for Drama category and they are joined by Angelina Jolie, Jodie Foster and Cate Blanchett.There was also a nomination for Helena Bonham Carter for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role in Sweeney Todd she is joined by Amy Adams, Nikki Blonsky, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page.And Tom Wilkinson secured a nod for supporting actor for Michael Clayton he is up against John Travolta, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Javier Bardem and Casey Affleck.
