Adrien Brody

Adrien Brody is excited about his up and coming Predators movie.

The Oscar winning actor takes on a rare action role in the Robert Rodriguez's reimagining of the popular franchise.

Speaking to Collider he said: "I’m very excited about Predators. Royce is a tragic, flawed, anti-hero, comic, leading man character that I’ve wanted to play for many years.

"I had to work very hard to get to that point to convince the studio and the powers-that-be that the strength that is depicted in Hollywood films is often based on a more superficial interpretation.

"I think real strength comes from within, especially in military minds, and leaders are not necessarily physically imposing, but they carry that weight and they have something within them that I felt that I could convey.

"I did the research. It was an opportunity to incorporate a lot of things that I love. I saw that movie in theatres when I was 14 and never, in my wildest dreams, would I think I would get this kind of Schwarzenegger-esque role. It is a dream come true to me.

It's set to be a busy summer for Brody with no more that three movies hitting the big screen. He teams up with Rachel Weisz and Mark Ruffalo for The Brothers Bloom before moving back to the sci-fi genre for Splice.

Predators is released 8th July.
