Amy Adams has revealed that she is grateful for her current success and she intends to enjoy it while it lasts.

The actress admitted in an interview that the early years where she tried to build a career for herself were difficult as she struggled to earn a living.

In an interview with Parade she said: "There were times when I didn't work. There were times when I was flat broke, just like anyone else.

"You go through ups and downs in life. And, right now, I'm on an up. I'm going to enjoy it and have fun and make the most of it."

In recent years the actress' star has well and truly risen with two Oscar nominations for Junebug and Doubt as well as roles in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Enchanted and Charlie Wilson's War.

Her next role sees her re-team with Meryl Streep, they starred together in Doubt, for Julie & Julia.

"Julie and Julia is really about reinventing yourself and what that takes. I've gone through that process of re-evaluating things.

"For a while, I was seriously considering giving up acting. My life lacked balance because I was too focused on a result as opposed to enjoying the process. I just had to get back into enjoying myself."

Julie & Julia is released 11th September.
