Andy Serkis is confident that the issues surrounding the filming of The Hobbit will all be sorted out and the production will go ahead in New Zealand.

The actor is set to reprise the role of Gollum in Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Hobbit, a movie that is suppose to begin filming in February 2011.

The production has been blighted with issues after it was delayed due to financial problems with MGM and then director Guillermo Del Toro left the project.

More recently Jackson has had some issues with the unions and it there was the possibility that The Hobbit would not be filmed in New Zealand.

Speaking to The Press Association the actor said: "The Hobbit is obviously going to happen at some point and I will go and join what is going to be an amazing wonderful film when the time comes."

And the actor admits that he can't wait to work with Jackson once again: "I'm really delighted that [Peter's] going to be doing it and I'm so looking forward to working with Martin, it'll be terrific."

Serkis is back on the big screen this week in his new movie Burke and Hare, a movie which sees him team up with Simon Pegg.
