Andy Serkis says that to be able to play the iconic Gollum scene from The Hobbit was a real highlight for him.
Serkis is back on the big screen this week as he reprises the role of Gollum for the first time in nine years in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
The actor was on the red carpet in London last night at the premiere of the movie where he talked about how Gollum is a character that you just cannot hate:
As well as reprising the role of Gollum for The Hobbit trilogy Serkis also went behind the camera as well as he worked as second unit director on the film.
He isn't the only familiar face returning to the franchise as Ian McKellan, Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving will also be seen in this first movie.
As far as motion capture performances go Serkis is also set to reprise the role of Caesar in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - which is currently in pre-production.
