Anne Hathaway has described hosting the Oscars as part of the ‘spectacular ride’ that she currently finds herself on.

The actress joins forces with James Franco, who is nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for 127 Hours, to host the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony later this month.

Speaking at a press day for her new movie Rio the actress said: My career has so gone beyond anything I could have ever imagined.

"Hopefully, God willing, there's still so much more time. I'm just really enjoying the spectacular ride that I've been gifted.”

Hathaway was back on the big screen at the end of 2010 as she reunited with Jake Gyllenhaal for Love and Other Drugs, which saw her take on the role of a young woman suffering with early on-set Parkinson’s Disease.

And 2011 looks set to be a busy year for the actress as she has already lent her voice to animation movie Rio and has completed work on One Day.

She has also just been cast as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, the third Batman movie from Christopher Nolan.
