Anne Hathaway Is Judy Garland

Anne Hathaway has landed the role of Judy Garland.

Hathaway will star as the actress in a biopic of her life Get Happy, which is partially based on the autobiography that Garland never completed and has never been published.

Harvey Weibstein told Yahoo movies: "We are thrilled to have the brilliantly talented Anne Hathaway portray stage and screen legend Judy Garland.

"I have worked with Anne on projects in the past and have known her for many years. She will be a true class act in this challenging role."

Hathaway has had mjor success in 2008 with the release of Rachel Getting Msrried, which saw the actress land her forst Oscar nomination for Best Actress.

Althought she missed out on the Oscar to Kate Winslet she did gon on to win the National Board of Review Award and the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for her performance.

And with biopics being popular with Academy voters she could go one better picking up the Best Actress gong.
