Anne Hathaway says that she can relate to her character Emma in new movie One Day
The actress has teamed up with Brit actor Jim Sturgess in the big screen adaptation of the David Nicholls novel of the same name.
And Hathaway admits that she can relate to Emma's confidence struggle throughout the movie as she tries to discover who she is.
Speaking to the New York Daily News the actress said: "Confidence is not something that blooms overnight. It takes time to develop - at least it has for me.
"Emma is a terrifically insecure person at the beginning of the story. It takes her a long time to understand and define who she is, and I can really relate to that part of her character."
"Of course, Emma is much wittier and more interesting than I will ever be, and that's really intimidating."
Hathaway is currently filming The Dark Knight Rises, in which she plays Catwoman, alongside Christian Bale and Tom Hardy.
The film is the third Batman movie to be directed by Christopher Nolan and is set for a 2012 summer release.
One Day is released 24th August.
