Ashley Greene has revealed that she is thankful for her role in the Twilight Saga as it has paved the way for other roles.

The actress takes on the part of vampire Alice Cullen in the series that has shot her, and the rest of the cast, to global fame over the last year.

In an interview with USA Today the actress said: “Instantly, we have this fan base, instantly, we have these careers and people know who we are.

“People now actually care about what project I'm in.

"I've been asked by people to get a lock of Rob's hair. I've even had girls come up to me and ask to smell my hair.

“I've gotten proposals, and I always wonder, 'What would people do if I said yes?'"

New Moon, the second book to be adapted for the big screen, was released last year and is one of the biggest grossing movies of 2009.

So far the film has taken $628 million at the global box office as fans flocked to see it. The cast have already wrapped on eclipse, which will be released next year.

While the green light is yet to be given on the final book Breaking Dawn there is rumours that it will be split into two movies.
