Betty White will receive her Life Achievement Award at the upcoming Screen Actors Guild ceremony from her The Proposal co-star Sandra Bullock.
 
The veteran actress will be handed the honour for her TV and film work, as well as her humanitarian accomplishments, at the annual prize-giving in Los Angeles on 23 January (10).
 
Bullock will pay tribute to White - who has been a regular on American television for more than 60 years - after they became close on the set of hit comedy The Proposal, in which White played Ryan Reynold's grandmother.
 
The 87 year old is best known for her role as lovable Rose Nylund in 1980s sitcom Golden Girls.

The actress has enjoyed a career that has spanned sixty five years encompassing TV and movie acting as well as a television host.

During her career she has received 18 Emmy nominations, with six wins.
