Brad Pitt has revealed that he is less interested in the movies he stars making huge amounts of money but wants them to stand the test of time.

The actor is back on the big screen later this year with Moneyball, a film that is already surrounded in Oscar whispers.

This follows up Tree of Life, which saw him team up with filmmaker Terrence Malick, a movie that was a huge critical hit earlier this year.

Speaking to Empire magazine the actor said: "Filmmaking is about longevity. Is it a quality picture? Is it a quality story? Is there something original about it?

"Films that I've loved, like (The Assassination of) Jesse James and The Tree Of Life, they're 'fine wine' pictures - they'll age well. They've got legs."

"I like films that make money. But I've been less concerned with that of late. I've found with one period where I was thinking that way, I made bad choices."

Moneyball is directed by Bennett Miller and sees Pitt star alongside Robin Wright and Jonah Hill.

MOneyball is released 25th November.
