Sofia Coppola, Bill Condon and Gus Van Sant are rumoured to all be in the running to direct Breaking Dawn.
 
The fourth book in the Twilight Saga franchise has been given the green light, however it is still uncertain whether the book will be split into one or two movies, and is now looking for someone to helm the project.

According to Entertainment Weekly studio Summit Entertainment has been in contact with all three of the filmmakers but is yet to make a final decision.

It would be the fourth director on to work on the franchise of movie. Catherine Hardwicke helmed Twilight before Chris Weitz took over for New Moon, which went on to be one of the biggest grossing movies of 2009.

David Slade is behind the camera for Eclipse, which is released this summer.

Melissa Rosenberg is currently working on the script for Breaking Dawn, which will see Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson return as lovers Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.

Sofia Coppola, who was nominated for Best Director for Lost In Translation, hasn't directed a movie since Marie Antoinette in 2006. Bill Condon's last movie on the big screen was also back in 2006 when he helmed Dreamgirls and Gus Van Sant was last seen guiding Sean Penn to Oscar glory in Milk.
