Bryan Cranston has heaped praise on Ben Affleck's directorial style.

Cranston and Affleck star together in new movie Argo - which Affleck also directs - and the Breaking Bad star says that he enjoyed the relaxed nature of the set.

Cranston went on to say that Affleck was always open to suggestions from the actors and that made it easier to bring a top performance.

Speaking to Flicks and Bits the actor said: "Ben, he's just so bright, but he's also so personable. He makes you feel so comfortable that you can take chances or offer suggestions."

"Anybody who is too domineering, it puts people in a mood of, 'I had an idea, but I'm not gonna say it', and they recoil.

"But with Ben Affleck, he opens it up and allows you to feel that you can approach him - which we did.

"With someone like that you feel more relaxed and capable of performing at the top of your game."

Argo is already winning over critics and the movie will feature at the BFI London Film Festival over the next ten days.

2012 has been a busy year for Cranston as he has already starred in Total Recall, Rock of Ages and lent his voice to Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted.

Argo is released 7th November.
