Carey Mulligan has had nothing but praise for her co-star Peter Sarsgaard.

The pair can't seem to rid of each other as they team up for this week's release An Education as well as working on theatre production The Seagull together.

An Education sees Mulligan make her major breakthrough on the big screen as the movie, and her performance, has been highly praised on the festival circuit.

Yesterday it was announced that the British star had been nominated for a Best Actress British Independent Film award.

In an interview with Digital Spy she said: "We spent almost the whole year together, we had a few months off in the middle, it was great, amazing.

"We wouldn't have done a play together if we hadn't gotten on so well. We got to play the older man, younger girl thing for a long time. It was wonderful."

"We're trying to think of something else we can do together now. We keep on trying to concoct strange French rom-coms.

"I'd love to. He's so easy to work with, and so exciting. He never does anything the same way. He's just a really nice person."

An Education is released 30th October.
