Chloe Moretz has insisted that her new movie Let Me In is different from the original.

The movie sees director Matt Reeves remake the Swedish original Let The Right One In, which was critically acclaimed when it was released last year, with Mortez taking on the lead role.

She stars alongside Richard Jenkins and Kodi Smit-McPhee in a story that sees a young boy befriend a female vampire.

Speaking to Pop Eater the actress said: "It's kind of awesome. The vampire takes on a whole different life in this film," she told Pop Eater.

"I hope people really receive what happened to the caretaker, which is the complete difference between a regular vampire and my vampire, and it's a lot darker, deeper and grittier than the other vampires out there. You know in the old film, it's a really dark part of who the real vampire is."

"I knew about the movie, but I wasn't able to watch it though, because it's R-rated," she explained.

"Yeah, my parents are very strict about that. I've seen parts of the original, and it's a very beautiful film."

Let Me In is released 5th November.
