The movie is directed by Steven Spielberg and follows the journey of a horse during the First World War.
The actor was on the red carpet in London this week and he revealed that he underwent five weeks training to get ready for the film.
2012 looks set to be a busy year for the actor as he is set to reprise the role of Loki in The Avengers.
The movie brings all the Marvel heroes together with Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth reprising the roles of Iron Man, Captain America and Thor.
We will also be introduced to Hawkeye and The Hulk played by Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo.
War Horse is released 13th January.
