Colin Firth is set to team up with Michael; Fassbender for new movie Genius.

The movie is a big screen adaptation of Scott Berg's Max Perkis: Editor of Genius and will see Michael Grandage in the director's chair.

The script has been penned by John Logan, who has just penned Skyfall and Hugo, and work on the movie is set to get underway in 2014.

Genius centres on the real-life relationship between literary giant Thomas Wolfe (Fassbender) and renowned editor Max Perkins (Firth).

Wolfe and Perkins develop a tender, complex friendship. Transformative and irrepressible, this friendship will change the lives of these brilliant, but very different men forever.

Firth will be back on the big screen later this month as he teams up with Cameron Diaz and Alan Rickman for a remake of Gambit.

He is also completed work on Devil's Knot and The Railway Man - he is also expected to reprise the role of Mark Darcy when a third Bridget Jones movie goes ahead.

As for Fassbender we last saw him on the big screen in Prometheus but he has completed work on Twelve Years A Slave, The Counselor and is filming a new Terrence Malick movie.

It was revealed earlier this week that X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to go ahead and he will be reprising the role of Magneto.
