Colin Firth

Colin Firth and rocker Bryan Ferry have been named in British Royal Queen Elizabeth II's Birthday Honors List.

Firth, who scooped an Academy Award in February (11) for playing the queen's father, King George VI, in The King's Speech, was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in recognition of his services to drama.

Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry also landed a CBE and is delighted with the "great honor".

Director Sam Taylor-Wood landed an Order of the British Empire (OBE) medal, while veteran entertainer Bruce Forsyth received a knighthood for services to entertainment and charity.

Firth dominated the awards circuit earlier this year also picking up the Bafta, Golden Globe and Screen actor’s Guild awards for his performance.
