Daniel Day Lewis

Daniel Day Lewis could be in line for the role of Professor Moriarty in the second Sherlock Holmes movie.

Guy Ritchie's mate Brad Pitt has longed been linked with the role, although having said that it was never confirmed, but it sees that the Snatch filmmaker may be looking at the British actor.

According to Super Hero Hype it seems that Ritchie has been looking at Oscar winner Daniel Day Lewis to star alongside Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law who will reprise their roles of Sherlock Holmes and Watson.

Sherlock Holmes was released at the end of last year and went on to gross over $516 million at the global box office, as well as snag Downey Jr a Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Golden Globe.

There was talk of a sequel just after the first movie, which was met well by the critics, was released and Ritchie is currently working on the script that was written by Kieran and Michele Mulroney.

Daniel Day Lewis was last seen in musical movie Nine as Guido Contini.
