Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 has stood firm at the top of the Aussie box office.

The first instalment of the final story in the Potter saga took a further $6.7 million to hold of competition from comedy Due Date.

The movie, which has topped the box office around the world, has already taken in excess of $608 million in the two weeks that it has been on release.

Due Date took $2.6 million this weekend, which normally would have taken the top spot, but had to settle for number two.

The movie is the latest from The Hangover filmmaker Todd Phillips and sees Robert Downey Jr team up with Zach Galifianakis.

Fir Game, which sees Sean Penn and Naomi Watts reunite, was new in at number three while Jackass 3D was down two places to this week's number four.

The Social Network was also down two as it rounded off the top five. A third and final new entry was in at six in the form of The Last Exorcism.

Dropping three places was the order of the week as Red, Skyline, Life As We Know It and Wild Target finished at seven, eight, nine and ten.
