Eli Roth

Eli Roth

Eli Roth has revealed that he wanted to be involved in  The Last Exorcism immediately after reading the script.

The actor/director admits that he enjoyed the script and was keen to get on board as a producer. The script was penned by Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland and the movie has been directed by Daniel Stamm.

Speaking to The Press Association the filmmaker said: "For someone who has read many scripts it's really hard to keep me guessing, I love scary movies but this script was truly one of the best, smartest, most original scripts I've ever read.

"It was so fun and it really kept me guessing. I had no idea where it was going. Every time there was a new twist I was like 'Oh my god I didn't see that coming!'."

In recent years Roth has mixed and match producing, directing and acting roles, he was last seen in the director's chair for Hostel: Part II back in 2007. And he is back on the big screen in an acting role in Piranha 3D.

And the actor admits that he like to mix and match projects that he takes on. "I get different satisfaction from everything. When I'm a director, obviously it's the most satisfying feeling because you have an idea in your head and you share it with the rest of the world.

"You can do the same thing as a producer, have other ideas and get your creativity out there. You also get the satisfaction of helping launch the careers of terrific actors.

"From acting you get the thrill of embodying the fantasies of the people that see you
