Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd and Sean Astin reunited ahead of the 10th anniversary of the first The Lord Of The Rings movie, reminiscing about their experiences on-set for a new magazine interview.
The four actor has met up to chat about their time together on location in New Zealand for Empire magazine, 12 years after they first started shooting.
And the quartet reveals they became such close pals on-set, they can recognise each other's voices after just one syllable.
Austin says, "Whenever you experience something that's as intense and life-defining as we did together, it never goes away.
"You see it with people who were at war. Nobody has to say more than a syllable on the telephone and you know who it is. Just the tiniest sound of someone's voice."
And Wood admits he is stunned by how fast time has flown by: "It's 12 years ago in August that we all flew out there, so it feels crazy to conceive of that span of time, but at the same time, it doesn't feel like that much time has passed."
