Emma Watson

Emma Watson feels like The Perks of Being a Wallflower was the movie role that she had been 'waiting for'.

The actress will be back on the big screen this autumn for the adaptation of the Stephen Chbosky novel.

And the actress admits that the character of Sam was one that she really cared about.

Speaking to MTV News the actress said: "I feel like I've been waiting for 'Perks.' I was waiting for this story, this script, this moment.

"I was a huge 'Harry Potter' fan even before I did the movies, and I thought I would never find a character or material I care about so deeply and personally as I did that, and then this came along and completely swept it all."

Stephen Chbosky is in the director's chair for the movie while Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller and Paul Rudd are all on the cast list alongside Watson.

Watson has also completed work on The Bling Ring and The End of the World and she is currently working on Darren Aronofsky's new project Noah.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is released 3rd October.
