Gabourey Sidibe has admitted that the movie Precious has turned her life around.
The young actress has shot to fame for her role in the gritty Precious, based on the novel Push by Sapphire.
She told the press at the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon in Beverly Hills: "It certainly has turned my life around."
"It sounds so sad to say that it's given purpose to my life, like I had no purpose before, I did - but I have a different purpose now!"
"It's something that fell in my lap in a huge way and I didn't know how much I would enjoy it when I said 'yes' to it all," she said.
"I absolutely would love to continue [acting]. I want to do every kind of film."
And her wish to continue acting looks set to come true as her new movie Yelling To The Sky is currently in post production.
The Oscar nominated actress once again leads the cast in Victoria Mahoney's latest movie which also stars Tim Blake Nelson, Antonique Smith and Zoe Kravitz.
