Gary Oldman has revealed that he would like to work with Colin Firth on a new movie that he is set to direct.

The pair are set to star together in political thriller Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy later this month and it seems that they will work together once more.

Oldman is set to direct an unknown project - this will be the second time that he has stepped behind the camera.

Speaking to Esquire the actor said: "I think I'm gonna do something with Colin Firth.

"It was something I'd been thinking about for a while, I can't say what it is, but it's a remake, and when I worked with Colin [on Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy] I thought: here's the guy to do it with."

Oldman leads the cast in Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy - a remake of the John le Carre novel - which boasts an impressive cast of Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, John Hurt and Toby Jones.

The veteran actor is also set to reprise his role as Jim Gordon in The Dark Knight Rises - it will be the third time he has worked with director Christopher Nolan on a Batman movie.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is released 16th September.
