Guillermo Del Toro is rumoured to want Andy Serkis to reprise his role as Gollum in his movie The Hobbit.
Casting for the much anticipated prequel to The Lord of the Rings has been casting over the last week and Serkis is one of the favourites to reprise his role.
Writing a message on The One Ring forum Del Toro said he "cannot imagine Gollum being played by anyone but Andy.
The only character that has so far been confirmed for the two movies is Gandalf, which will see Ian McKellan return to the role.
In other Hobbit new Tobey Maguire is the new frontrunner for the role of Bilbo Baggins in the movie.
A string of actors including David Tennant, Brian Cox and James McAvoy have all been linked to the role in recent months.
The Hobbit will be split into two movies Del Toro will take on directing duties while Peter Jackson is executive producer as well as scriptwriter.
