Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

The eighth and final instalment in the Harry Potter film series hits the silver screen next weekend and already film buffs are speculating it could go on to become the highest grossing Harry Potter movie of all time.

Paddy Power aren’t so sure however and are quoting a less convincing 5/2 on the Deathly Hallows Part 2 topping the $974million that ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone pulled in since its release in 2001.

Whatever hope JK Rowling’s latest tale has of topping all the Harry Potter movies there’s almost no chance, according to Paddy Power, of it smashing box office records and becoming the highest grossing movie of all time.

James Cameron’s Avatar looks as safe as houses to remain top of the box-office with Paddy Power quoting 10/1 that the Deathly Hallows will overtake Avatar’s humongous $2.7billion rakings.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: "The Deathly Hallows will of course be a success at the box office but it’s unlikely that it will beat The Sorcerers Stone record and it will need more than a little magic to beat Avatar!"
