Helen Mirren has described her part in Hitchcock as a 'wonderful role'.
The actress plays Alma Reville wife of Alfred Hitchcock in a film that looks at the relationship between the pair.
And for her performance Mirren was rewarded with a Best Actress nod when the Bafta nominations were revealed yesterday.
Speaking to the Press Association the actress said: "This was a wonderful role, Alma Reville was more than Hitchcock's wife, in many ways she was his muse, his assistant, his editor and more, and I am proud to have had the opportunity to portray her."
The movie teams Mirren up with Anthony Hopkins while Sacha Gervasi is in the director's chair.
Mirren find herself in the best actress category alongside Emmauelle Riva, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and Marion Cotillard.
Hitchcock is released 8th February.
