Hugh Jackman admits that he got a little 'over-zealous' when filming a fight scene with Russell Crowe.
Wolverine and the Gladiator go head to head in Les Miserables as Jean Valjean and Javert - which sees the popular musical brought to the big screen.
And Jackman reveals that during a fight scene between the pair he accidentally hit his co-star.
Speaking to ITV's This Morning the actor said: "I was doing scenes with Gladiator - with Russell Crowe.
"I did get a little over-zealous in one scene where we were doing a little bit of a fight scene, and I accidentally hit him with a four-by-two.
"And I was like, 'Did I hit you there mate?', and he was like, 'No, I'm alright, I'm fine'.
"At the end of the day, he takes his costume off and he had this big line right down his back."
Jackman's portrayal of Jean Valjean is gaining high praise and be has already picked up Best Actor nominations at both the Golden Globes and Baftas - an Oscar nod is expected to follow later today.
Les Miserables is released 11th February.
