Ian McKellan & Andy Serkis Join Hobbit Cast

Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis have signed up to reprise their roles in The Hobbit.

McKellan is back as wizard Gandalf while Serkis is all set to return to the character of Gollum in the Peter Jackson movie.

Both actors starred in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and speculation had mounted after their future when they didn’t appear on the ever growing cast list.

And the pair will be joined by some of their Lord of the Rings cast members as Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood and Cate Blanchett will return as Legolas, Frodo and Gladriel.

It was announced only yesterday that Elijah Wood would be part of the movie, which is being split into two.

The movie is set to begin filming in New Zealand next month.
