Injury hell for Hellboy actor Perlman

Hellboy star Ron Perlman is recovering in Hollywood, after tearing his ligaments in his knee.on the set of his latest film, Drive.

Perlman fears he may need knee surgery after a wave knocked him off his surfboard, whilst filming on Santa Monica Beach in California.

The injury prone star who broke his ribs and a toe on the set of Hellboy, told WENN: "It's hard to walk on it. I think I'm gonna need surgery; there's some structural damage in there."

"We shot the scene during high tide at 3.30 in the morning and my back was to the ocean."

Now Perlman, 60, fears that this latest injury will catch up with him when he retires. He said: "When I'm 80 I'm gonna be a mess, so hopefully I'm not gonna make it to 80."
