Jamie Bell has revealed that he hopes to be playing the character of Tintin for the rest of his life.

The actor is set to voice the character of the young sleuth as Steven Spielberg brings the popular cartoon to the big screen.

This is expected to be the first in a trilogy of movies - and Bell hopes he will be playing this character for a very long time.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, Bell said: "Hopefully I will be Tintin for a while. If audiences really embrace it I will be doing it for the rest of my life - I could be 45 and still be doing it!"

The film sees Spielberg return to the director's chair for the first time since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull while Peter Jackson is on producing duties.

Weta Digital were brought in to handle the special effects for the movie and Jackson is expected to helm the sequel.

This films comes hot of the heels of the success of Jane Eyre, where Bell played John Rivers, he has already completed work on Man On A Ledge.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn is released 26th October.
