Jason Momoa has revealed that he was put through a punishing training schedule to prepare for Conan The Barbarian.
The actor takes on the role of Conan - a role made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger - in the reboot of the franchise, which is directed by Marcus Nispel.
The actor gained 20lbs as he bulked up for the role.
Speaking to People the actor said: "We do two hours of sword work first, then have a little break, eat a broiled chicken, do two hours of weightlifting and have cardio.
"Then I'd go home and basically the best thing I could do is sleep and rest."
2011 has already been a very successful year for the actor as he took on the role of Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones.
Conan The Barbarian is released 19th August.
