Jon Turteltaub admits that he likes working with Nicholas Cage because he is a 'gentleman' and a 'professional'.

The pair have worked together on two National Treasure movies and will reunite this summer for The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

The movie is based on the famous Mickey Mouse scene from Fantasia and will star Cage, Jay Baruchel and Alfred Molina.

And with a third National Treasure movie on the way Turteltaub reveals that he finds Cage a pleasure to work with.

Speaking to Comingsoon.net the filmmaker said: "He's a gentleman. He is one of the most professional actors but especially compared to what we think the wild Nic Cage is like.

"This is a guy who works really hard and has none of that movie star nonsense. All those bad stories you've heard about movie actors - none of those are true with Nic Cage.

"You also get someone who never bores you. Every time you're watching him do a scene you're going to get something unexpected.

"For a director, that's what you want because if they're only doing what you ask them to do - you have to be good as a director.

"He can fill in anything you're missing and do something special and that's what directors need."

As for National Treasure 3 it looks like filming may get underway later this year. "I think we start shooting late fall, early winter.

"Hopefully that's the goal and I think it will come out Christmas 2011. That's assuming everyone is available, the script is good and I haven't thrown a tantrum.

The Sorcerer's apprentice is released 13th August.
