Jude Law Describes Sherlock Characters As 'Rich'

Jude Law believes that the characters in Sherlock Holmes have stood the test of time because they are so 'rich'.

The British actor reprises the role of Dr Watson this week in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows while Robert Downey Jr is back as the title character.

The pair enjoyed huge box office success when the first movie was released two years ago and this promises to be bigger and better second time around.

But when developing the character Law said that there was plenty of material to draw on because these characters had been played so many times.

2011 has already been a successful year for Law after starring in Contagion as well as appearing in the critically lauded Hugo.

Sherlock Holmes is released 16th December.
