Judi Dench has described Daniel Craig's take on James Bond as a '007 for today'.

The actress is set to reprise her role as M in Skyfall and it will be her third movie alongside Craig.

And the Oscar winner went on to say that she felt Craig's depiction of the super spy "feels like a Bond who could kill a man".

Dench sat down with GQ to chat about the new movie and she revealed that while Craig comes over all serious on screen he does have a lighter side.

"Perhaps somebody who doesn’t know him might think he was very serious, and he was tense when I first met him, but, gradually, you find he has this sense of humour, which is irresistible."

In Skyfall we sees Bond's loyalty to M really put to the test as her past comes back to haunt her.

Sam Mendes is in the director's chair for the movie while Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem are just two of the new names on the cast list.

Skyfall is released 26th October.
