Julianne Moore Movie Angers West Virginians....

Julianne Moore's new movie is causing a storm in West Virginia, after a casting call asked for extras with physical abnormalities.Casting director Donna Belajac was fired after residents of the state protested about being stereotyped as "inbred hicks" and Governor Joe Manchin dubbed the advertisement "offensive".It reads, "We are looking for people to populate a West Virginia 'Holler.' People who have any of the following attributes should attend: "Extraordinarily tall or short. Unusual body shapes, even physical abnormalities as long as there is normal mobility. Unusual facial features, especially eyes."We are also looking for a 9-12 year old Caucasian girl with an other-worldly look to her. Could be an albino or something along those lines - she's someone who is visually different and therefore has a closer contact to the gods and to magic. 'Regular-looking' children should not attend this open call".The movie is due to begin shooting in March (08).In seperate news the actress has dismissed rumours she is to join the cast of hit TV show Desperate Housewives, insisting there is no truth to the reports. The Oscar winning star was alleged to have accepted a part in the programme as the sister of Marcia Cross' character Bree in a bid by producers to boost falling viewing figures.

But Moore's representative Stephen Huvane tells America's OK! magazine, "Julianne will NOT be on Desperate Housewives."
