Kal Penn

Kal Penn is turning his back on Hollywood once again to return to his political career as a White House aide.

The star quit hit TV drama House to join U.S. President Barack Obama's office as Associate Director of Public Engagement in 2009, but walked away from the post in April (10) to reprise his stoner character Kumar in comedy sequel Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle.

However, the 33 year old is not quite done with politics - he's heading back to Washington, D.C., where he will resume the same government post.

Penn has completed work on A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas and Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain, which also stars Martin Sheen and Mischa Barton.

The actor has not been seen on the big screen since the release of Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
in 2008.
