Keira Knightley at the 'Anna Karenina' world premiere

Keira Knightley has called Anna Karenina a huge undertaking and admits that she was nervous to take on the project.

The actress was on the red carpet in London to help promote the movie - which sees her team up with director Joe Wright for the third time.

And despite her nerves about taking on the role she admits that she was excited about portraying such a complex and complicated character.

Anna Karenina is the first time that Knightley has working with director Wright since Atonement back in 2007.

But this year has been a very diverse year for the actress in terms of roles as she has moved from David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method to comedy Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World to this period drama.

She has completed work on Can A Song Save Your Life? And she has just begun filming on Jack Ryan with Chris Pine.
