Kristen Bell is set to take on Winona Ryder's most iconic role in the musical version of cult movie Heathers.
The actress has been involved in top secret readings with actor Christian Campbell this week (beg09Mar09) and plans are afoot to take the show to regional theatres next year (10).
The Heathers musical will eventually debut on Broadway.
Andy Fickman, who turned classic movie Reefer Madness into a 2005 movie musical, has signed on as director.
Ryder teamed up with Christain Slater in 1989 for black comedy Heathers and despite being a box office failure the film has gained a cult following.
The film followed two teenagers who killed classmates and made it look like suicide. Last year Slater revealed that he would love to team up with Ryder again for a sequel.
