Jude Law

360 kicks off over a fortnight of films that will be screened across the city from early Oscar favourites such as Shame and The Ides of March to British movies from Frances Lea and Dexter Fletcher.

Law was on the red carpet last night to help promote the movie and he revealed that he was very proud to be opening his home film festival.

Speaking on the red carpet to the BBC Law said: "It's a great honour, I have lived in London my whole life and been coming to this festival for many years; I have been visiting this cinema since I was about eight years old.

"So it's a great honour and I am very proud to be here with a really wonderful film."

The 55th BFI London Film Festival runs 12 - 27 October.
