Meryl Streep has been linked to the role of Margaret Thatcher in a biopic about the former Prime Minister.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the movie is set to be directed by Mamma Mia filmmaker Phyllida Lloyd, which would reunite her with her musical lead star Streep.
Jim Broadbent is also linked to the project and he is expected to take on the role of Thatcher's husband Denis. The movie will be set in 1982 and will follow Thatcher in the seventeen days that led up to the Falklands War.
This would not be the first biopic picture for Steep who has depicted Susan Orlean and Julia Child on the big screen, picking up Oscar nominations for both.
Streep has not been seen on the big screen since her role in comedy movie It's Complicated, which won her a Golden Globe earlier this year.
She has been linked to movies such as The Ice at the Bottom of the World as well as Great Hope Springs and Dewey.
