Meryl Streep’s performance as Margret Thatcher, was always going to be a contender for an Oscar and William Hill have her as their 6/5 favourite to be named best Actress at the ceremony next year.
That said there have been some excellent performances over the year and Michelle Williams is 2/1 for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe, whilst Viola Davis is the same price for her performance in The Help.
'The Best Actress Oscar looks very competitive this year but Meryl Streep is definitely the one the others have to beat,' said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
