Mia Wasikowska is not joining the sequel to The Hunger Games, Catching Fire.

The Jane Eyre and Alice In Wonderland actress has been linked to the role of Johanna Mason, a new tribute in the second movie but she has denied any involvement in the franchise.

Mason is just one of the new characters that have to be cast for the new movie, which is due to begin filming later this year.

The role of Johanna Mason is the only one that is surrounded in speculation as Taylor Kitsch, Garrett Hedlund and Armie Hammer have all been linked to the part of Finnick Odair.

The Hunger Games was a monster success when it was released earlier this year and it has so far grossed in excess of $661 million at the global box office.

Jennifer Lawrence is set to reprise her role of Katniss Everdeen while Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are also set to return.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to hit the big screen November 2013.
